Multi Larsen Trap

Well made trap. Triggers work well although the slides did want a bit of initial adjustment. Had mine some years now, no sign of rust etc at all. Loaded a maggi into it about 9am and had a full house of 3 captives by 4pm. I do find top entry Larsens probably work better for maggi''''s generally but these side entrys work well on crows especially if you also bait the trapping areas. Sheep can be a pain setting them off if they rub against the trap or shove their heads in looking for some soaked dogfood bait. Geoff

I''ve had this a few weeks now and am really pleased. We dont get any more waste from food getting wet or getting knocked over, and the pigeons can''t get it either! I only got the "tunnel" problem briefly when the food was running out- it seems to me that as long as you keep it well topped up the problem wont appear. My little flock are all quite happy with it!

I would like to see a basic diagram of instalation of the discs, as all pictures show the two outside discs with the bump facing towards the rest if the discs. Great product, easy to set up and arm with good safety feature when arming.The mine triggered as expected, would definitely recommend the product One point to note would be that once the cartridge has been triggered, the firing cap lifts upwards and can make it difficult to slide out, maybe a slight relief could be added to the underside the width of the firing cap.

Very pleased so far, amount of feed used has dropped dramatically as wild birds can no longer get at it, I think we were feeding the whole Kintyre population of Pheasants. My hens are taking a while to get used to the new feeders, but egg production is still the same so they must be managing somehow

Just the job for my chickens. Not a bad price really! Don''t think you''d find anything of these sizes for the price. A great raincover keeps the food nice and dry. But I have noticed that the chickens do jump on to the top of the drinker and mess the water.

Excellent-moved the chickens into a shed, and replaced a hopper with this poisoned wheat, found two dead rats close by two days later, several dead ones found within a 20 yard radius of the hopper, have had to re fill it as most of the poison had been eaten, have 26 fen traps on the garden area, and have only caught two rats in two weeks as opposed to two per day, does the job.

I was disappointed that the kit did not have a plug fitting to match the socket on the Accu Feed automatic feeder unit which houses the battery. I know it said it had spade fittings but the detail on the Feeder did not say it did not have spade terminals.************************************************* The main battery, if rechargeable, is fitted with spade connections to be charged outside the feeder. The charger supplied is a standard type to match the battery.The two pin socket on the Accufeed should not be used for charging as this may damage the timer.

Excellent service from Solway Feeders, and excelent product. Bought to feed afternoon corn ration to our 4 chicks, wall mounted ours about 4'' off ground, fitted baffles around half of spiner so corn only comes out the front. Fitted a sturdy 2 litre plastic container on top to hold about a weeks worth of corn, finaly with a little trial and error made the bottom feed aperture smaller to reduce feed rate per second. Works a treat now, Chicks soon get over noise when they realised corn was coming out!

Very effective way of allowing the use of traps safely when pets have access to the areas affected by mice. Easy to use and clean. Being able to see the yellow indicator showing if the trap inside the box is set or sprung is especially useful. Would be better if each trap was supplied with its own ''key'' rather than one per order.

We chose the treadle feeder as we''d had a problem with rats. After a couple of days training with the treadle weighed down, the hens got the hang of it and are happy again. I put masking tape along the length of the ''door'' as it clanged when it shut which scared them off initially. Hopefully the rats are going hungry while the hens no longer have to share their food. Good quick service and pretty easy to assemble.

This is an excellent product. A repeat order from us. Had no problem with the feet falling off, you just have to push them on properly. And you just have to wedge the container between your feet when inverted to get the top on - easy after the first couple of times. Excellent price and fast, efficient service. A lot of drinker for a good price. Seems robust so I hope it''''s UV resistance is better than some of the Chinese competitors which go brittle when left in the sun. Time will tell. Only negatives so far are as the other reviews have mentioned the feet which fall off easily and which on a dark evening might be difficult to find and they are quite awkard to invert due to the size so a few wellies full of water might be had until you get the knack. Excelent speedy service despite the 3 - 5 days delivery estimate it came in one which given my rural location was impressive.

6 hole nest box with front roll out

I was looking for a nestbox for my chickens and had made several searches on the net when I found Solway Feeders, I read the reveiw above and decided to make a purchase. The nest box is well constructed and comes up like new when cleaned with the power wash, I would say one thing though some of the metal has sharp edges so caution when likting as it would be easy to get a nasty cut on your hand but this can be sorted with a bit of ducktape At first it was fun trying to get the birds to use it, so I used straw and reduced it over a period of a week, no it''s not a problem and the eggs stay safe and without any poo on them. I orederd the nest box from Solway feeders, and was amazed at how fast it got to me, infact it was the next day so must award 5* for service, my 35 foot run will be arriving at the end of the month and will get more birds so will require more bits and of course will be ordering fom this company. Very easy to fit and use and my hens love drinking from it. Can be refilled from outside of the coop which is great if you have hens who are skilled in the art of escape and always on the look out for an open door. You lose surprising little water when you refill and the water stays much cleaner than with other drinkers I''ve tried. Haven''t tried these in the winter but should be relatively easy to insulate the bottle. I have four of these as my hens can go through up to 4.5 litres a day if it''s hot. A great and cost effective idea.

T Bars for Spirals

I found the T bars a useful piece of kit,they allow you to tension the spring ever so slightly so as to let out just enough wheat to allow the birds to feed and reduces waste at a time when feed costs are constantly on the rise. The only small drawback is that they dont fit into some of the older spirals we still have in use...closed ends! On the whole, a useful,simple tool.

Sturdy and functional. Ideal for the guinea fowl / chickens. Both the feeder and the drinker have feet which raise them by about 3". Didn''t have a problem with the lugs on the drinker, works just fine unlike some I''ve had in the past. Quite pleased really. Just unfortunate that like all other plastic goods, it''s an absolute rip off at £25 for something that costs pennies to make. A friend of mine gave me a couple of the Bait Trays! wow what a result, but i was unprepared for Rats o boy they come in big numbers dont they just!!! I have had to buy a Box of RATIMOR to continue to get the better of them, so far i''ve had 12 dead rats with only 1 of which was an adault all the 11 others have been young ones. So as a product i would highly reccomend this as being a very effective remedy for the KILLING of RATS. Just one more thing i have also found it effective at killing Mice as well, the mice i did''nt even know i had. So thumbs up for RATIMOR!! Mr, S, R, Dew

good product with plenty of capacity , the only design fault i would say is that the lid is concaved witch allows it to catch water, could be a problem in winter in scotland.**************************** We have sold this item throughout Scotland for many years without encountering this problem.

Great value and more robust than I expected, works perfectly and keeps feed dry with very little waste. Read review regarding hens not pecking at it and the tunnel in feed appearing, none of this has occured with the two we bought, with in 48 hours the hens were happy pecking at the spiral and no difficulty in the feed coming out. Will definately be buying more as funds allow. Thanks for a great value product that aids recycling as well.

Not impressed so far, although a great idea to re-cycle continually having to shake the barrel because the bottom is flat a tunnel appears in the middle with food either side and nothing coming out, and the hens scatter in alarm when I have to shake it. Had a real problem getting the girls to peck it as well. Have taken it out and gone back to the previous feeders until we can figure out how to solve the problem of the flat bottom***********These are primarily game or wild bird feeders but have been used very successfully with poultry.If the feed is dry there should be no problem flowing into the spiral providing the barrel is kept topped up with the correct sized feed.

I used these in conjunction with a spray as the pests were in their thousands suddenly. First one produced lots of smoke (had to warn the neighbour that it was meant to be there before he came round with a hose). Second one only a little bit and looking at it the touchpaper is charred but the bomb itself it untouched. Chickens are now far happier and I can get eggs without finding tiny crawling dots on my skins for ages afterwards.

the plastic one snapped ages ago and I tried all sorts of temporary fixes as did not want to pay ££££s for a replacement. Found this when looking for something else, it is cheap, it is flexible, it does the job, and I no longer get soaked filling up the water container!

great product. very sturdy with stood torrential rain fall here in the South East this week. holds good 3/4 day feed for my 5 chooks. Very pleased. Would advise keeping it off the ground to keep feed clean.

My 5 chooks love it. Drank from it straight away. Easy to fiil, sturdy and will not tip over. Would advise putting it on something to raise it off the ground as my chooks scratched mud and chips into it. Very pleased.

The cage we purchesed, did the job, we caught the cat in three days, then straight to the Vet, however to open the only end that does open, you have to put your fingers through the wire and push up the spring bar enough, before you can push open the plate back from outside, not very good with an animal caught inside. To overcome this I tied a peice of fishing line to the spring bar at the end and passed it through the top at the side so nothing could get caught in it, attached a 3" peice of wood as a handle which laid on top of the cage, with the line being tight to the spring, as soon as you pull the line, the spring lifts up and you can push open the plate door with no fear of getting a bite. I have a picture of this if you would like to see it. THIS IS A CUSTOMER REVIEW AND NOT RECOMMENDED BY SOLWAY FEEDERS LTD.

This feeder and drinker are just the job for our six chickens. Best of all is the feeder which prevents the food being scratched out and is well sheltered from the weather if left outside. The drinker was difficult to operate because the lugs on the reservoir had to be trimmed to fit into the base slots provided for them and it is still difficult to use which is a pity becasue this drinker is so very necessary and is otherwise brilliant
